We Got Tired of Broken Websites Too

WebChange Detector started because we kept finding client sites broken after updates. Now we help agencies catch problems before their clients do.

It Started in 2015

Since 2015, I’ve been helping clients keep their WordPress websites secure and up-to-date. Over the years, I streamlined and automated nearly every part of the update process – making it faster, more reliable, and affordable for everyone. But there was one critical step I couldn’t automate: checking the website after updates to ensure everything still worked.

Automated updates: Streamlined the entire update process for speed and reliability

Cost-effective maintenance: Made professional maintenance affordable for everyone

The missing piece: One critical step remained – post-update verification

It all started in 2015 to offer visual verification that update didn't break anything

The Concern That Became Reality

The worry was always the same: What if an update breaks something – and I miss it? Unfortunately, that concern became reality more than once.

A plugin update breaks the checkout. A theme update shifts the entire layout. An auto-update happens overnight and nobody notices until Monday morning.

Every time the client found it first. Every time we looked unprofessional. I knew: if I wanted to deliver a truly professional maintenance service, I had to spot those issues before my clients – or their clients – ever noticed.

The Internal Solution

So I started experimenting. I built an internal tool that automatically compared websites visually before and after updates, helping me instantly detect any changes or issues. At first, I used it solely within my own workflow. But as I spoke to other agencies, it became clear: This wasn’t just my problem – it was a widespread challenge.

More confidence: Catch issues before clients see them

Better service: Professional maintenance you can trust

No surprises: Visual comparison catches what manual checks miss

From Internal Tool to SaaS Platform

That insight led to the creation of WebChange Detector: a SaaS solution designed to give agencies and website managers full visibility into what changes during updates. We launched in 2020 and built the platform with clear priorities. We built the tool we wished existed.

WordPress-first: Built for what agencies actually manage

Intelligent comparison: False positives kill adoption – we eliminate them

Multi-site dashboard: Agencies have multiple clients, not just one site

Affordable pricing: Professional tools shouldn’t require enterprise budgets

Our Mission Today

Since launch, we’ve continued to evolve and improve the platform with one goal in mind: To make website updates safer, smarter, and stress-free.

We’re not just solving our own problem anymore – we’re helping agencies worldwide catch problems before their clients do.

If our newsletter lands in your inbox, that’s me. If it’s in spam… let’s not talk about it.
We’re a small, focused team. No VC funding. No 50-person engineering department. Just people who understand the agency world and build tools to make it better. Based in the US, originally from Germany, but serving agencies worldwide.

Smarter screenshots: Continuously improving the screenshot engine

Agency-requested features: Building what users actually ask for

Real human support: Answer emails personally, not with bots

We’re Practitioners, Not Just Vendors

We’ve been on your side of the equation. We’ve managed WordPress sites for clients. Dealt with auto-update disasters. Had awkward “the site is broken” conversations. Wished for a tool that didn’t exist. Now it does. And we’re committed to making it better every day.

Profitable business: Not burning through VC money on unsustainable growth

Sustainable growth: Building for the long term, not quarterly reports

Customer-funded: Our customers pay our bills, not investors demanding exits
