WordPress Core Security Updates: Immediate Protection Without Delay
Previously, all WordPress auto-updates were held strictly within your scheduled auto-update window (such as overnight or on weekends) so visual comparison screenshots could be captured before and after.
When critical WordPress core security updates are released, timing is critical:
- New: WordPress core security updates can now be installed immediately upon release, even if your scheduled check window is days away.
- Intelligent Separation: Regular plugin, theme, and major WordPress core updates continue to wait safely for your scheduled check window with complete before-and-after visual verification.
- Central Control: This setting is enabled by default and can be managed directly in the plugin settings as well as in the web app dashboard, including bulk update actions across multiple sites.
Cloud-Delivered Result Emails: Reliable and Detailed
Until now, the WordPress plugin dispatched update result emails through your server’s local email mechanism (wp_mail). On hosts with strict outgoing mail limits or unconfigured SMTP setups, notifications could occasionally be delayed or lost.
- Delivered via WCD Cloud Infrastructure: All auto-update result emails are now sent directly and reliably through our cloud infrastructure.
- Detailed Version Tracking: Each email specifies exactly which plugins, themes, and WordPress core versions were updated, showing both previous and new versions.
- Alert Emails for On-Demand Checks: You can now configure dedicated alert recipient email addresses for manual on-demand check groups as well.
Smarter AI and Fewer False Positives in Console Checks
We have improved our browser console error detection and made our AI verification engine significantly smarter:
- Fewer False Positives: We fixed issues that could trigger unwarranted alerts during console checks, making your test results cleaner and far more dependable.
- Smarter AI Verdicts: The AI evaluates page states and console activity more accurately, making sure you are only notified when real issues need your attention.
Improved Webapp and Plugin Experience
- Streamlined Post-Check Action Cards: After completing an on-demand check in the WordPress plugin, clear action cards (“Start a new check” or “Check again”) guide your next steps.
- Credit Balance Alerts: If a scheduled monitoring check cannot run due to depleted check credits, an account notification is sent promptly so your coverage never lapses silently.
